FIRST EU ICC FUND PLATFORM
HFH has filed for the first ICC fund in Malta - HFH ICC plc. The Scheme will launch with 3 funds in Q4 2011 all of which will be listed on the MSE. HFH offers a unique and exciting EU fund platform for managers around the world. See "Fund Platform".
AFRICAN MICRO-FUNDS
HFH will launch the first mobile linked micro-fund for the Kenyan market in Q1 2012 and open its first African office in Nairobi in Q4 2011. HFH will invite Kenyan finance sector companies to its launch in December 2012. Watch this space for more details.
BLOOMBERG EVENT - 07/10/10: "How to Start and Grow a Hedge Fund"
Ashminder Kaur, HFH Partner, who joined Clifford Chance LLP in London after graduating from Oxford University, was on the Expert Bloomberg Panel for this popular event which discussed the challenges and solutions for start-up fund managers.
HFH provided the funds community with a close up informed discussion with Andrew Lilico, one of the most influential and knowledgeable regulatory experts in the European Union. The evening also featured Baroness Caroline Cox, Founder and CEO, HART (Humanitarian Aid Relief Trust).
Baroness (Caroline) Cox was created a Life Peer in 1982 for her contributions to education and has served as a Deputy Speaker of the House of Lords from 1985 to 2005. Lady Cox now sits in the Lords as a crossbencher and is a frequent contributor to Lords debates on Sudan, India, Nigeria, Uganda, and Burma.
Dr. Andrew Lilico, HFH Chief Ecomomist, Dr Lilico is one of Europe’s leading experts on the economic impact of regulation, he advises the UK Government, European Parliament, European Commission and other national governments on regulation and economic policy through economics consultancy Europe Economics, where he is a Principal. He is also Chief Economist of think-tank Policy Exchange and sits on the Shadow Monetary Policy Committee. Dr Lilico is frequently on television and radio, nationally and internationally.
Dr Lilico has led the teams producing Reports for the European Parliament on the AIFM Directive, the European Parliament’s assessment of the impact of the Financial Services Action Plan, the European Commission’s assessment of the costs of complying with financial regulation, and the FSA’s assessment of the benefits of the Markets in Financial Instruments Directive. He helped design the regulatory impact assessment processes used by the European Commission, Ofcom and Ofgem. He is currently advising the City of London on the implementation of Basel IV.
